President of Urban Movie Channel
Traci Otey Blunt was named President of Urban Movie Channel (UMC) in February 2017. UMC is the first premium subscription streaming service for African American and urban audiences created by Robert L. Johnson, Chairman of RLJ Entertainment and Founder of BET. UMC showcases quality urban content including feature films, documentaries, original series, stand-up comedy, and other exclusive programming.
Traci joined RLJ Entertainment in November 2014, as EVP for Corporate Marketing & Corporate Affairs and was appointed to develop and launch UMC. As part of the RLJE management team, Traci continues to oversee RLJE’s corporate affairs portfolio which includes corporate communications and public affairs. Traci continues to work closely with RLJE’s Chairman on a variety of business and management initiatives. Prior to joining RLJ Entertainment, Traci was SVP, Corporate Communications & Public Affairs for Johnson’s holding company, The RLJ Companies, where she was responsible for communications, media strategy and planning, government relations, political affairs, and executive visibility. Prior to RLJ, Traci was a deputy communications director and national director of African American media to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton during her 2008 presidential campaign.
